Two Roses Ultra - Striding across two counties
An ultramarathon with a difference.
This unique event offers you a choice of two 50k’s or 100k in one event.
You can choose between the Lancashire red rose 50k or the Yorkshire White rose 50k or do both…
The 100k will take you out from Hebden Hey Scout Centre towards Burnley, passing through the picturesque village of Worsthorne and into the beautiful Townley Park before turning towards Cliviger and up onto the tops for a brutal climb up to Gaddings Dam and Stoodley Pike, before dropping back into Hebden Bridge.
After a brief pit stop at HQ you will then head out towards the historic village of Haworth and over to Bingley, coming back through the stunning Cottingley Woods with its greenery and waterfalls, before striding past Ogden Water and over the moors back into Hebden Bridge for the finish.
You have a generous 24 hrs to complete the 100k giving you ample time to enjoy the scenery, we have chosen midsummer so you get the most daylight making this a tough but rewarding experience.
100k- registration between 6.00-6.45 start 7 am
Red Rose 50k - registration 6.00-6.45 start 7 am
White Rose registration 7.00-7.45- start 8.am
Two Roses Ultra - Striding across two counties
All our usual ultra set-up with a bit extra thrown in.Registration will have tea/coffee & toast, this will be available throughout.
Checkpoints will be roughly every 10k- all vegan-friendly with the middle one being HQ. This allows you to have a drop bag, pasta and a cuppa before heading back out on your second loop.
Both loops are quite different, so if you are choosing one over the other this might be something to consider.
The Lancashire side is rugged and although similar elevation it’s all on the second half! A fell runner’s delight …
The Yorkshire side is more gentle rolling hills and a bit more road, making this the perfect introduction to ultra running.
If you are doing both you may want a change of shoes in your drop bag as well as dry socks!
The last couple of aid stations on the Yorkshire side will be open 12 hrs so will be a gazebo to offer a little shelter for staff and runners.
The only cut-off for the hundred will be Leadbeater Dam at 4am.
All youth entries are £20 for anyone under the age of 23.
Additional information
Bag drop- 100k runners can have a drop bag at the halfway point, we recommend a change of socks & shoes as a minimum.
